I'm watching Trading Spaces right now... and...
it looks like they've filmed it in Baltimore (my hometown). I just turned it on five minutes ago, so I'm not sure. I checked out the TLC website, but didn't see anything. How do I find out?

7. Really? Did they give a street name?

2. I used to watch that show religiously.
But then, it dawned on me that they were more or less vandalizing people's property. Painting over wallpaper? The horror. My husband and I joke that if we traded spaces with someone, they would probably paint our Hitchcock bedroom set. $10,000 worth of furniture rendered worthless.

3. My spouse has made it clear that signing up for Trading Spaces is
grounds for divorce. It's hard enough for him to accept contrasting trim colors in our house.

4. Am thinking "While You Were Out" can be just as deangerous
to marriage or any relationship.

5. "While You Were Out" is definite grounds for divorce
I only watched that shitty show once. Once was more than enough. The whole show seems to work on a "fuck you, husband" basis.

In the episode I watched, this guy had this one room that was his, and he told his wife she could redecorate the other 20 rooms in the house any way she wanted just so long as she left him this one. So naturally, she had the old man shanghaied off to a golf convention or some fucking thing while she redecorated that one room.

I am going to assume that if the husband comes home, sees his wife fucked with his private room, and throws all her shit out in the yard before telling her to get the fuck out and never come back, they don't show that part of the reveal.

6. As an Interior Designer, the WYWO redesigns are mostly total crap
and offensive in the cheap ass materials and stupid over the top themes they use.

8. I could only imagine what you think about Trading Spaces....
that show got so offensive I had to stop watching it a couple years ago. Laurie's designs were pretty good, but the others were hell.

9. I agree re: Laurie's designs
At least she puts the money into the more important parts of the room to create the base of a good design that can be added on to without a lot of redo.

And you are right re: TS. That show is like nails on a blackboard...especially Hildy's designs...that woman has no concern for the homeowner at all.

I do like watching FreeStyle and Designed To Sell on HGTV occaisionally...not too bad or grating. However, Sell This House! on A&E totally sucks..especially Roger's "trademark" use of fucking sheets to cover furniture and make drapes. I have nothing against sheets as curtain fabric, but all he does is hang them from clips on a rod and it looks so fucking tacky. And when he uses sheets to cover up furniture, that's what it looks like...sheets on furniture. And the fact that he's a pompous ass and a poor Interior Designer... :P Wonder how he got that show???

10. I used to love the show....
Then they took paige off and we haven't watched it since. It doesn't have the same energy.
