I posted an innocuous thread about how much I loved "Dirty Work." Then another thread for "Reelin' In the Years," which got a lot of comments from people of both persuasions. ("Steely Dan RAWKS!" "No, they're over-hyped assholes!" etc.) Then a third for "Deacon Blues." (All of this within a couple-hour timespan. The threads are in my journal. ;)) Then Texasgal and I got into a "Post as many 'Dan lyrics as you can" war, posting so many threads with 'Dan lyrics that many people were hiding them.

Then, of course, people started posting about how great/how bad they thought the 'Dan were. Many people on both sides of the fence. Then came the obvious flamebait.
