What kind of car is your main mode of transportation?

1. I have a wagon, but it's on the small side.

Not quite so dinky as some of the ones they're making these days, but it's a four cylinder, seats four comfortably or five if you're not going far and everybody in the back seat gets along.

I loves my PR5. 25 mpg on average, and I drive like a maniac. My Great Dane has plenty of space to stretch out, and since they only built it for a couple years, I don't see that many on the roads.

I don't have a car - walk for most of the time, when needed bus, train or taxi (probably in that order of frequency).

Course, had to stop driving when I became disabled, and at first I was totally depressed, but that has changed. People are really generous about giving you a ride, plus I have access to a "disability van" for $2.00 each way.

It's a "Fabia", made by Skoda (they're Czech, but owned by VW). It's got a 1.4 litre engine, and can do more than 50mpg on the open road. :)

VWs are good cars, but they are overpriced IMO. (Over here, anyway. I have no idea what they sell for in the States). But I can buy a Skoda for much less than a VW, and it is made with all identical parts. And the doors make a nice satisfying German clunk when they close. :)

I'm pretty lucky--I'm on a bus line that'll go right into downtown in less than 10 minutes, and the bus line to work is only a 15-minute walk.

(But DANG, I got soaked yesterday waiting for the bus!)

It's a good car; it does what I need it to do: get me back and forth from home and school. Good mileage, too: I can do the eight-hour round trip on a tank of gas.
