Poll question: Best Hockey Movie EVER?
Not many hockey flicks, so I picked the ones I know of.

My pick is the one with Paul Newman in it.

5. Slapshot by a longshot
funny movie and a great cast. I happen to know the guy who played Andre 'Poodle' Lussier. He works at a local Ford dealership as delivery manager. When I bought my conversion van and Mustang I signed the papers in his office and I saw a picture on the wall of him and Paul Newman. Nice guy who still coaches peewee hockey.

6. Slapshot
The first Mighty Ducks movie was kind of cute, but Slapshot was by far the best.

7. Here are some great quotes from Slapshot.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076723/quotes

Reggie Dunlop: You cheap sonofabitch. Those guys are retards.

McGrath: I got a good deal on those boys. Scout said they showed a lot of promise.

Reggie Dunlop: They brought their fuckin' TOYS with 'em.

McGrath: Id rather have em playin with their toys than playin with themselves

Reggie Dunlop: They're too dumb to play with themselves. Boy, every piece of garbage that comes into the league you gotta buy it

McGrath: Reg, Reg, that reminds me. I was coachin' in Omaha in 1948 and Eddie Shore sends me this guy who was a terrible masturbator. He would get deliberate penalties so he could get over in the penalty box all by himself and damned if he wouldn't ...

So many...

9. Late next summer they'll be making a documentary called
Triumph of the Leafs: The Story behind the 2007 Stanley Cup Winners.

It promises to be a really solid hockey movie.

12. Here's their 67 roster.
There were some great ones on that team. I always liked Dave Keon.

13. Mystery Alaska
great stuff. If you havent seen it, give it a go.

I really enjoy Russell Crowe when he plays regular joe types.
Great part for Burt Reynolds as a judge and former hockey player.\\

The writing is good and the hockey scenes well done.

16. Agree with you. Mystery, Alaska. It has heart.
I haven't seen Miracle. Slapshot is good for some quotes, but the movie itself really isn't that great.
