A/C is ON for the first time this year |
|
It's rather warmish here and my husband's truck's A/C is on the blink.. He'll be so happy to arrive home in a few hours to a nice cool house :) I'm such a good wife:)
The AC also drowns out the car alarm going off and the mariachi music from our neighbor's house :)

I'm in the Phoenix area and it's a toasty 97 degrees on my patio.

2. I don;t know, but the air coming in the open windows was HOT |
|
and i know how my husband HATES the heat.. I fugured that commuting home with no AC would make him pretty grumpy :)

3. A cold drink is always good too! |

This must be a tough time of year for your husband. The heat is just beginning and the next six months can be really warm.

4. The problem he has with his truck is that it's so old, they don't |
|
make the part his AC needs.. A whole new unit will probably cost more than the truck's worth :( I guess he'll be driving the Honda to work more this summer .. I don;t go many places anyway.

5. I'm not using my AC this summer unless I am having a heat stroke! |
|
I live in Houston, I'm as broke as my user name implies, and I'm :scared: of the ginormous electric bills headed my way this summer!
What the hell. People lived without AC for thousands of years, so I guess it's time for me to quit being so spoiled by all of these modern luxuries. :D

6. here's a trick we use in the desert.. |
|
Edited on Mon May-01-06 04:19 PM by SoCalDem
Turn it on around 11 am..close the drapes and get the house cooled down EARLY..then bump up the thermostat to aroud 78.. It will turn on less and the house will stay cooler longer.. don't open the doors if you can help it :) If you wait until the inside of the house GETS hot, it's too late and it will take a long time to cool down :)

8. It claims to be only 75 |

in LA. It must be really humid or something, b/c it was offensively warm on the trip to work this afternoon.

We have had our AC on for a couple of months here in SOFLA. It is so humid here. I hate it. But, we have Mariachi Music playing here as well. It's like a Mexican Polka. The AC does drown it out, but we do take the dogs out from time to time and there's that music again.
