Am I totally unreasonable? |
|
Today is rent day. Ok. The check is post dated and won't be good for a couple days...
But here's the thang.....When I moved here.... I gave up my job, my boyfriend, all sorts of stuff. My sister had died and I couldn't bear the thought of my parents dealing with that alone. So my dad rented me an apt. He's the the leaseholder.
And so I get charged double for utilities. Two occupants. (Yeah! me and my father living together! That'd be a cold day in hell!) But here's the catch. My dad is a senior. Seniors have until the 5th to pay rent. Which would work better for me.
But how come when it comes to utility bills and such my non-occupant dad gets calculated in (primary lessee), but when it comes to rent he ceases to exist? Is it fair for them to have it both ways?
Khash.

1. I've never heard of such a policy around here |
|
Most people who rent around here have to pay for their phone, electric, cable, and gas just like they owned the place. A few folks have their untilities figured into the rent and are charged a flat rate.

3. I'm surprised they allow a non-occupant on the lease |
|
But yeah, he's either an occupant for both utilities and payment date or for neither, it would seem to me. Which due date was indicated in your rental agreement/lease? Could you take him off of the agreement at some point to lower your utility bill?
