Anyone here file chapter 7 after the law change?
My sister is thinking of going chapter 7.She is married but she wants to file by herself. Her husband bought a house before he married her.She now is currently making about 31K a year with a 4 person family in pa.Is she allowed to file by herself? Can she file chapter 7?I did some research via google but it is very conflicting.
Thanks in advance.

3. It's probably best to seek legal advise
Things have changed so much, I don't know if she can do this alone without claiming the house as an asset.

4. I doubt a married person could ever file Chap. 7 alone
Otherwise, you'd just sign all your assets over to the spouse. It doesn't work that way; those are communal assets. She owns half that house. And what is his income?

Relatives told me not to...

And I'm shortly to be jobless.

6. Sorry to hear about your job hypno
Do you have anything lined up?I had all my assets frozen due to a law suit once and it got ugly.I turned to ebay to help me get through that.It shocked me how much I made on ebay.I am doing it to this day.I work with inmates via prison society in showing them how to sell on ebay so they can stay at home with their children.Since a lot are drug "offenses" they will not be eligible for assistance when they get out.Just a thought perhaps ebay can float you through.
Best of luck,
Sincerely Lindy.
