Rumors about a sequel to Batman Begins...Joker and Harvey Dent?
According to Variety Warner Bros. has hired Christopher's brother Jonathan Nolan to write the sequel to Batman Begins based on a treatment Chris Nolan and previous screenwriter David Goyer have already written. Chris Nolan will officially sign on to direct soon...

For the past week, I served as a grip on the set of "The Prestige," and I can tell you that during the lunch break each day Nolan, Bale and Caine have what we refer to on the set as the Batman meetings, where they sit under at a table under a tent away from everyone and discuss the coming abouts of the sequel. While everyone is to keep away from the area, we do find ways to sneak by. And I would just like to point out I have heard the names Paul Bettany followed by Joker and Jake Gyllenhaal followed by Dent.

1. That could be good.
That could be very good. I would go see that.

Though nothing will ever get me back the time and money I wasted seeing the horrible batman movies with the nipples and cod-pieces.
:grr:

2. Sounds good to me...
I new that a sequel was coming, and Joker was going to be the main villian, but adding Dent will be awesome. I'm a comic book buff, but right now all my energy/drive is wrapped around Superman Returns. The official trailer for Superman Returns is out tonight, at 9:15pm EST...
The teaser trailer, looks awesome, and i got a 8 second flight sequence from a coke ad, from Australia the other day. I'm a superman buff, and i can't wait until this movie comes out. But, dont' get me wrong, Batman is my second Fave, and I fully support the Batman Begins Franchise, the movie was outfuckingstanding....and I hope the sequels will be up to the same standard...:)

6. no problem...
I have been waiting since March of last year, when I first heard that Bryan Singer(director of Xmen/Xmen II, and Usual Suspects) was directing the movie, i have been patiently waiting, and now, i got less than two months, and an official trailer coming out soon. The toys/merchandise of the movie have come out. I have gotten a few SR toys, and what nots.

I have read a lot of Batman/Superman graphic novels, and they are both my favorites, hands down. Superman's, my number one, Bats my number two. If you guys want to try and keep up, a few people, and myself, chat constantly on the imdb.com superman returns chat boards, most of the guys are ontop of the SR stuff...:)

11. You cannot do the Joker
Jack Nicholson was so good as the Joker, I pity whoever would play him now. It was easy for Christain Bale with Batman because you could only go up, but Nicholson was so perfect as the Joker. At least that is what I think.

12. Yes, you can they can do the Joker
because Nicholson's character in Batman, was not the Joker. Nicholson played a Mafia hit man, who wore make up, and was called the Joker. Burtons adaption of Joker was miserable IMO. The joker is a crazy, insanse, genious, with a penchant for laughter. Don't get me wrong, I think Nicholson did a good job, but that wasn't the Joker, to me it wasn't....:)

13. seems all
those who played the villains in the original movies did a lousy job. Jim Carey's Riddler was too over the top and don't get me started on Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze. Of course that's mostly the fault of the writers and directors. Pisses me off when they make wholesale changes to the characters for the sake of the story. I'm a big fan of making the movie and staying true to the original story. Everybody knows that Joe Chill killed Bruce Wayne's parents not Jack Napier/Joker and neither did Ra's Al Ghul in Batman Begins.

17. Yes, i can understand that...
staying true, or true as possible to the creation story. Thats why I liked Batman Begins. Its the truest, creation story of Batman, on film, that I have seen. I didn't like any of the previous batmans, except the first one, and even then, i thought it was an average movie.

But, Batman Begins, did a great job, I was highly impressed that they decided to use, two, of Batmans most vicous villians, and two of the hardest villians, that i thought would be "hardest" to put onto film. But i do like what they did with Raz, to make him easier to understand. In the comics, he is an immortal/genius/wizard of sorts. It would have been hard to show that in the film BB. I do like, how they used him though, albiet its not true to the comic mythos totally...:)

21. I completely agree...
... even with your opinion on the films -- Burton's being the closest to Batman out of the four, but even that, being an average adaptation at best.

16. The rumor is..
..the Joker will be the main villian in the next movie. Batman will capture him and the Dent character will be introduced. During the third movie, the Joker will toss acid in Dent's face, creating Two-Face, the villain for the third movie.

23. My 12 y/o was asked if she wanted to talk to Bale on the phone--
by her uncle, who was working on B'man Begins, and was at a party around the holidays with the cast. She's a Batman NUT. She said No because "I'm busy and and I don't know him"

2 year later, she's ticked.

25. I really like Gyllenhaal BUT...
... I do NOT want to see him as Harvey Dent. Maybe as a college-going Grayson later on... that could work. But not Two-Face! I like Bettany a lot too but can't see him as the Joker... there was another actor that was mentioned early... can't remember his name (wasn't Crispin Glover)... but he certainly looked the part.

I'm not a big fan of the whole two-villain template... after I had seen Batman Begins, I thought Harvey Dent would make for the perfect villain for the next film. An old friend of Bruce Wayne, lawyer, public figure, possibly fashion him and Katie Holmes' character as an item (even though it seems she's been given the pink slip). It'd be perfect.

I'd rather they wait up on the Joker... mention him in the background, note that he's out there... but build up the suspense.
