Since no-one has seen fit to respond to MY thread....
The least I can do is make sure yours doesn't die the way mine is......
Are you really drunk? And .....WHY?

3. Wow! California Peggy! |
|
I've never talked to you before! :bounce:
I'm a wee tipsy 'cause well...my partner and I rarely get some "alone" time together (hint-hint). She works weekends (so do I) and her days off are Tues/Weds and we sort of "celebrated" tonight.
Oh, and I built some awesome book shelves from some cheap scraps from Habitat For Humanity Re-Store and my "office" is finally coming together. I'm pretty happy right now. :bounce:
My better half has fallen asleep on the sofa...

We've had some rough spots recently. My partner's older sister passed away last year from pancreatic cancer (she was only 43). We're trying to focus on each other now. I'm trying to look forward to grad school (this fall) and my future. I'm a late bloomer (will be 36 in Sept). I'm trying to make my way thru academia, maybe teach somewhere. In the meantime I wait tables/bar-back at a really neat jazz club here in Winston-Salem, NC.
my club----> www.speakeasyjazz.net.
I've read your posts for a while and I'm impressed by you positive outlook and kindess to all here inthe lounge. :-)

10. Well, I appreciate your kind remarks tonight..... |
|
Even I get blue sometimes, and tonight is one of those times....
I have a good friend who was working for a candidate in Ohio....and the gentleman is losing.
It makes me sad to see it. I've seen the race from the inside, and I have a small idea of how much work it is.....and it is upsetting.
I appreciate your kindness to me! Tonight it is hard to be positive.....

11. Local politics are really rough and tumble type stuff |
|
My mother is a county commish in my (very small) home town in the far western part of North Carolina. Sometimes the first election is the hardest to win. Often it takes more than one shot. From what I understand, Ohio has been pretty shaken up by Repug scandal of late. Perhaps chipping away at the GOP beast at this point is the best your friend can do right now.
Every little bit helps.

But my friend's candidate was running for a seat on the Ohio Supreme Court...
Those don't come along very often, I believe.....
Thank you, though, for the hug! It helps me......

That's a toughie. To me, Superman will always be Christopher Reeve. No one else. Ever.
But, I don't want to miss out on this new version.

9. Yeah, i understand that |
|
I think, every superman fan has dealt with Chris Reeve to one degree or another. I still think of CR as superman...if i see CR on a show, or old movie, i'm like hey "theres superman!" But i'm giving Brandon Routh the benefit of the doubt. I want more superman movies, most fans do, but we all have to deal with CR death, and accept, that other actors, can do the part....but my generations superman, will forever be, Chris Reeve....
