My street is filled with police cruisers! From three different cities!
I counted 14 cars all with lights flashing, from La Mesa (where I live), San Diego and El Cajon. La Mesa sits in between the other two cities. I walked out and asked two cops what was going on and they told me that they couldnt comment and asked me to go back inside.
This just happend. No sirens, they were just there.
This is scary!

4. I'm staying indoors for this one.
In spite of all the cops, its been eerily quiet. No shots, no sirens no yelling...
Creepy.

I'll be OK Peg.

Let us know how things are and what you learn this is all about.

Just remember to breath.

7. About a dozen years ago
I lived on Jasper Avenue in Edmonton (the main street), and at some time after midnight, so many police cruisers drove past my apartment at normal speed, lights flashing, no sirens. There must have been 20 or 30 of them. Maybe more.

I was sure there'd be something in the paper the next day, but there was nothing. Very, very weird.

8. Was it a morning paper?
If so, there's no way it'd have news from after midnight, just hours earlier. The final few pages would've gone to pre-press before that. And by the next day it would've been some 30 hours old, so it would've been buried inside.

(Just using them as an example.) But there was nothing from any media at all!

9. Was it around 95th St?

When I lived in Fort Mac, I came home one evening to find 6 cop cars in front of my building (a small walk up). I went inside, and the place was dead.

Turns out the guy above me called 911 and threatened to commit suicide.

He didn't, but I find it ironic that all those cops showed up for a guy barely 5 feet tall and 90 lbs soaking wet...

16. No, it was at 119th Street.
We used to live in the old apartment buildings across from the Beth Shalom synagogue. (And now I see it's all condos!)

The cruisers were headed in the direction of downtown.

19. Everything here is condos now
:eyes:

I used to live in that area...113 St & 103 Ave (apt 13, too!!), then later 123 St & 102 Ave.

No shortage of police sirens at either location...;-)

wasn't that around the time the last EPS cop was killed on duty? I wonder if it was some sort of tribute/parade.

There's a park right by the High Level bridge named in honour of him.

22. Sometimes you can get minute by minute police reports on line.
I know I can here in Sarasota. Every 15 minutes they post police calls and describe what is going on. Go to your local police website and search around for police logs or something like that. It's an eye opener, I tell ya. My neighborhood had a beating occur right around the corner and I never would have known except for the online log.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/kgtv/20060503/lo_kgtv/3441126

Three men were hospitalized Wednesday, one of them with critical chest wounds, after gunfire erupted inside an East County apartment, police said.

The shooting was reported shortly at about 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at a unit at 4382 Rosebud Lane in La Mesa, police said.

Arriving officers found one man with critical gunshot wounds to his chest.

Another man shot in the arm and leg suffered non-life-threatening wounds. Both men were taken to a hospital, La Mesa police said.

A third man suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, police said.

All three of the victims were tenants at the apartment, according to police.

One of four men suspected in the shooting was found in the home with severe injuries to his face and was taken to a hospital for surgery, according to a La Mesa police statement.

The three other assailants left the scene in a white Honda Civic or Accord and are considered armed and dangerous, the statement said.

31. The shooting happened Tuesday morning
If you saw the cops around midnight Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, chances are the car was just spotted by your place and the actual shooting didn't occur there. Hopefully, anyway. Glad you are safe.

28. So they caught up with you at last.
You knew they would. Admit it.

Whatever happens, do NOT tell them about those buried rifles. And you'd better put that joint out while you're at it...
