And their boobies would bounce.

Not as fun as cheap alcohol,

26. Hi Joan!
I used to see your posts 20 times a day,
but it seems like I haven't seen you in a while.

Have you been gone, or have we just been
on different wavelengths lately?

27. I've been missing a bit lately.
I'm going to be traveling just for the sheer joy of it this year. I'm leaving for 12 days at the end of this month then I'll be gone for most of July straight through until after I drop MissHoneychurch off at the airport in late September.

It seems to be having a nesting effect on me. It's like I can't get enough of my space. I guess it's understandable because I've carved out my own private world of greenery and gentle wildlife just outside my bedroom doors. I'll miss that this year. I'll also miss months of riding my trike while I'm tooling around on 4 wheels.

I'm glad we've reconnected, dicksteele.
BTW ~ There was a guy on one of the dating sites with your user name a year or two ago. :)

28. Dick Steele on a dating site? Is it just me, or...
...does that sound like a cry for help?

Sure, I have a funny name, and I enjoy having it.
And from Googling it, I've found that there are thousands
of us Richard Steeles out there.

But on a DATING SITE? c'mon!!!
Even _I_ would have enough sense to tone it down for that!

I'd use Rick Steele, or Rich... or even just "R. Middlename Steele",
at least until I got to know someone better!

Crazy!

Well, I am off to bed, and already a few hours late for it.
Hope I see you again real soon Joan!

Are you up for a midnight snack? :donut:

Isn't it sad when I don't even have whores coming after me? I thought you were supposed to become invisible AFTER forty, could I still have my 3.5 months until then?

Then, of course, on that warm summer day, I will vanish into thin air...never to be seen on DU again...:tinfoilhat:

21. This year I'll be turning 58.

I have outlived my daddy who died at 54, my aunt at 39, another uncle at 49. Do you see a pattern here? I'm not willing to give-up one day of the time I have left by worrying about the years that are already gone. I spent over 11 years of my life recovering from an accident but I'm back. Early next month I'll be going for my first balloon ride. I've wanted to do that since I decided against parachuting. I reached back into my past, to my lover from college for someone special to share this moment with. :)

At 40 you are still a baby-chicken with so much wonderful time ahead. :loveya:

41. Well, I hope I look as good as you do at 58
and have the same great attitude...:bounce:

I actually look forward to it, I'm just having a bit of fun in the above post. There's definitely something to be said for 'growing into yourself'.

What's interesting, though, is I feel like I'm getting younger, even though my body is aging. I was one of those 'born old' people who are de-aging.

It is a time for reflection for me, no doubt about that...but it doesn't have to be a bad thing at all. I view it as quite positive, to see where I'm heading in this next phase of my life.

I'm glad you are feeling better from the accident. :-) That's a long recovery time. I'm in the same boat, having been ill and completely non functional for a few years, and finally starting to come back to life again. It's a very transformative time for me...it's like my previous life has been swept away, and the slate is blank for a new one.

Every 'little' step is a big one...when you can do simple things like walk again, or shop, or socialize...to think only a short time ago I thought I would be in a wheelchair for life.

I'm sorry you lost so many family members so young.

Enjoy your balloon ride!! That sounds so exciting - and you're a brave lass to do it. (I'm terrified of heights, and my balance is still sometimes a bit iffy, so it terrifies me even more)

I hope you'll take pictures for us. :hi:

35. I can understand that.

She is beautiful is so many ways.
I understand her comment about not turning invisible at 40 too, Virgos are constantly assessing the world around them. Perhaps I do it a little too much.

36. It seems to me that the only place you turn "invisible"
is in popular culture, which means films, TV, magazines, newspapers. If one thinks "I am over the hill at 40 because a 40-year old will never be considered a sex bomb in the press, and will never get the female lead in Hollywood," then we are allowing our self-image to be dictated by mysoginists.

But, you know what? The mysoginists are wrong. I can see quite clearly that u4ic is fucking beautiful. If I can see it, other people can see it. And I think that anybody so awful to think that a woman is now beneath consideration because she reaches a certain age is not a good companion for a sensitive, right-thinking person anyway.

In short, fuck 'em. That's what I think.
