Hey DU! What're you listening to?
Me, I'm listening to Count Basie's April In Paris. Basie's "New Testament Band" in all its swingin' glory.

What's got you swinging this morning?

33. well right now i am listening to Dionne Warwick "Anyone Who Had A Heart"
But my very favorite new CD is this one:

Here's a snippet from the allmusic.com review:

" While Wilson has certainly not lost any of her singular talent for interpreting the Chicago blues through the lens of jazz and pop , she has expanded her palette once more by creating an entirely new bag from which we might hear pop, through the age-old hypnotic, sensual, incantory veil of the blues. "

My iPod seems a bit obsessed with Carmen McRae this afternoon. I have it on shuffle, and it's chosen 5 Carmen tracks in the past hour. We just segued from her version of MacArthur Park (without the "someone left the cake out in the rain" chorus) to an overblown version of "You Don't Know Me".
