Man Glued To Wal-Mart Toilet Seat
<snip>

SALISBURY -- It wasn't the Saturday bomb threat at North Salisbury Wal-Mart that had people talking Monday morning.

It was, however, a sticky situation.

A 20-year-old Salisbury man was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center late Sunday night after a Wal-Mart employee found the man glued to his bathroom seat, said Lt. Cheryl Rantz of the Salisbury Police Department.

"The man had gone into the bathroom and sat down," she said. "He was banging on the wall when the employee came in."

The employee called 911 and emergency medical services arrived. Police say the man was not in the bathroom for more than five minutes.

The man was treated at PRMC and released.

"We're grateful that he was not seriously injured," said Sharon Weber, store spokeswoman.

Wal-Mart is conducting an internal investigation into the incident and handling it just like any other, she said.

2. Yes. I think it was a Home Depot or something.
And nobody would help him.

5. All of these have GOT to be self-inflicted....
C'mon, super glue dries in seconds. So a prankster would have to glue all the toilet seats, and then hope that someone comes along in 10 seconds or less. Which means the victim would see someone coming out of a stall, and sit in that stall immediately. (Most guys would pick another stall) Odds are, no one comes along soon enough for it to happen.

This might work at a baseball game, where there's a line of guys waiting. But not at a Home Depot or even a Wal-Mart.

Most likely explanation is someone doing it themselves, then suing Home Depot or Wal-Mart for the bucks.

6. Doesn't neccesarily have to be Super Glue
There are many adhesives out there that don't start the chemical reaction to harden until an adherent surface is press against them, in this case the guys butt cheeks. Many epoxies or products like Gorilla Glue fall into this category.

And really, for the amount of embarassment and pain this guy is going through, I doubt that he would be in it for the big bucks. Hell, I doubt that even WalMart can be held liable for what a prankster does.

14. LOL, darn those flashbacks!
Yeah, Gorilla Glue is great stuff, but it does expand a little, and if you glue body parts together, boy howdy are you in trouble. I don't think they have a thinner out for it like Super Glue, so whatever gets glued is going to lose a lot of skin.

15. Holy cats!
Just went to the GG website--there's NADA in the FAQ about "What if I stick my fingers together?" Just "Wash hands with soap and water immediately" if you get it ON your hands. Yikes!

16. It'd have to be a clearer epoxy than Gorilla Glue, though...

...that stuff's orangish-brown. I sure as hell wouldn't sit on a toilet seat with orangish-brown gunk on it, and even a cursory "not really paying attention" glance should spot it.

9. I wonder if it's about paranoid moms who used to hold Timmy OVER a public
toilet so that his pristine bottom wouldn't make contact with "germs"???

That could really be it.

11. Sounds like these "toilet seat gluers" are trying to invent a reason
to sue these large companies. "Look, I got glued to a toilet seat at Wal-Mart/Home Depot/whatever, and I'm gonna sue! I've suffered mental and physical anguish!" Yeah, right. Just hand the idiots a bottle of fingernail polish remover and tell them to get their butts unstuck themselves. :P
