It tastes a bit like liver and is similar in texture. Didn't much care for it. I've had buffalo too. It's pretty good ground up for burgers.

Both a lot leaner than beef, though not as tasty. To each his own though, I guess. I'll stick with cat.

Burgers or steaks. I had a Bison Burger and it was similar to beef with a slight sweet taste to it.

17. Depends on how you define "strange" I suppose. |
|
I'm not desperate to try any of those listed.
I've eaten ostrich and kangaroo, which some would consider odd - but then I've eaten duck, rabbit, pheasant, pigeon, venison and some even think of those as "strange".

and Vienna sausages too. Actually, I've eaten gazelle (Thompson's) in South Africa and reindeer in Finland. The gazelle was ok, but the reindeer was pretty good - sort of like a slightly gamey roast beef.

29. They tried to feed me veal in Italy. |
|
Apparently, in Naples, it's considered vegetarian because it's a baby cow or something. I don't know. When I explained that veal wasn't vegetarian, they brought out a plate consisting of the largest hunk of fresh mozzerella with sauce and basil that I've ever seen. I couldn't finish it, and they thought I didn't like it. Italy is a rough place to eat for a vegetarian with a small appetite.

Vegan shepherd's pie. It's not really good for you anyway. Most people have some sort of mild wheat intolerance so it's not that great to be eating pure wheat gluten.
I'm a big tempeh fan too.

I should probably eat tempeh more often than I do, but the discolored bits wierd me out a little.
I just had a seitan shepherd's pie for lunch (which reminds me, I'm supposed to be posting the recipe, so I should look to see where I put it.)

|
Now I love it. I don't even think about the discolored bits or the fact that it's fermented soybean cake. I heard it's healthier than tofu too.
I used to eat Tempeh "Fishsticks" all the time. It was sticks of tempeh breaded with some dulse/kelp/whatever added to the breading, dropped in a pan for a few seconds of frying time, then baked in the oven. Dip in nayonaise tartar sauce.
