OMG! I want to adopt this puppy sooo bad!
Edited on Wed May-03-06 12:38 PM by haruka3_2000

He's a 5.5 month old pitbull puppy. Apparently, he's in a house with cats and other dogs, but the owners don't want him just because he's deaf. That is the most precious little face ever. Pits are the cutest. His name is Beethoven.

4. I'd have to convince the family.
I've been around a lot of pits and they've all been sweet dogs. I used to have a blind German Shepherd, so I think I could deal with a deaf dog no problem. We have a few acres of land, awesome for a puppy.

3. Look at the little heart shaped black spot on his nose!
:loveya:

People don't understand that hand signals work just as well, if not better, than vocal commands with dogs. Plus, you don't have to deal with incessant barking at every tiny noise outside.

5. Both dogs I've had in the past were trained with hand signals.
My pit mix was the best dog ever. We never even had to keep her on a leash. We lived in a crappy neighborhood and no one would bother us. The German Shepherd went blind but voice commands also worked.

7. They say he's friendly.
He's currently in a home with kids, cats, and dogs. The rescue group is trying to get him a foster or permanent home. He's been temperament tested. The breed just has a bad rep. I've encountered a bunch of nasty toy dogs and no nasty pit bulls. You just need to keep them socialized and make sure that you're dominant. Really, you need to always be alpha with any dog, but it's more of an issue with larger, potentially aggressive breeds. Pretty much I've always been around pit bulls, German Shepherds and Rottweilers so I'm really good with them.
