1. I wish I kept my old B&W Beatles trading cards from the 60's. |
|
I had hundreds of them but tossed them years ago.

I Love the beatles. I have a pretty cool James bond 1965 card set..I assembled it on ebay. Thats where a lot of my sets came from.Buy them in lots and keep the ones you need resale the ones you don't. Its pretty fun actually. I also assembled the original Planet of the apes card set And the later Card set..It's pretty cool when you complete a set

But most of my collection are baseball cards (I have about 10,000), from 1950-1988. Many compete sets with rookie cards. I was the kid who NEVER clipped cards to my bicycle spokes.

5. I kept them in shoe boxes at my parents house. Wrapped in plastic. |
|
They were forgotten after I moved away in 1974. My parents were remodeling their house when they found several shoe boxes in a closet. They shipped them out to me and I found so many treasures. Willie Mc Covey Rookie. Nolan Ryan Rookie. Willie Mays, 1955 Topps. Mickey Mantle 1960 Topps. All in Near-Mint condition. Keeping them to pass on to my sons, after I leave this existence.

Those would be hard to part with I wouldn't be surprised if your kids kept them for their kid's.

And my grown kids know the value. Both financially and sentimentally.
During the 80's when my parents sent me those treasures, I went hog wild buying sets and rookie cards. I now have Roger Clemens rookies, Barry Bonds, Tony Gwynn, Cal Ripken, Raphael Palmeiro, Mark Mc Gwire, Eddie Murray, and other prominent player's rookie cards.
Many complete sets from the mid-late 80's too.

and I'm trying to complete a collection of the Monkees flipbooks that Topps put out. I have a complete set of Ren and Stimpy, a bunch of Marvel cards, and a set by the artist Mobius. I did have a couple of complete sets of Olivia(the lingerie artist) cards but lost those in a basement flood along with a set of Sin City cards.
