Why do dogs howl at fire/police sirens? |
|
Does the sound from the sirens hurt their ears?

4. it sounds like another dog, signaling that they are lonely |
|
dogs howl when they are separated from their pack, as a way to connect with other dogs.
The sirens sound like this howl. They think the fire engine is a lonely dog separated from its pack, and answer that call with "don't worry, we are here"
