I got my DTaP shot yesterday!

My arm is sore, but I'm good for another 10 years.

Can I have more ice cream since I was good and didn't cry at the doctor's?

1. I have to get one of those in August when I start school.

I knew schools required measles/mumps/rubella, and chicken pox (or proof of immunity/prior illness), but tetanus? Who knew? (I've been told it's for liability -- so if someone steps on or cuts themself with something, they won't develop tetanus and sue.)

2. Maybe it's more for the Diphtheria...

I took a chunk out of my knee on a mountain bike ride a couple of months ago, and decided to update my Tetanus since it had been over 10 years. My doc suggested the DTaP because apparently the number of diphtheria cases in adults has been on the rise.

3. Actually, they don't require the diptheria part -- just the tetanus
