Fucking coke dealers
I was just driving with my buddy. As we passed a bus stopped I noticed a kid lying on the ground flapping around. I told my friend I thought the kid was having a seizure. So, since my friend has first aid, we pulled over.
When I walked up to this kid he had fucking death in his eyes, they were as big as dinner plates and he wasn't blinking, barely breathing and totally unresponsive.
My friend asked his friends what he was on - turned out he had ODed on cocaine. This kid couldn't have been more than 14.
So, when the ambulance showed and took over from my friend, the kid's friends snuck off, I imagine to hide their coke.
Then they came back with another couple of kids, one of whom told the paramed the kid was fine and shouted, "Just walk it off Carl!" To his friend.
We basically told the kid to shut-up. He then started trying to say that we don't know his friend, his friend can do coke all day and be fine..... yeah.....right.
Sad to see man, sad to see.... I hope the kid had a good scare.

1. Woah.
I only know one person who had an OD on coke (she was fine though). It's kind of hard to OD on. It's not like heroin, which I've seen kill far too many of my friends.

2. Fucking coke ,period.
I am really all for everyone doing "their thing"; but it just seems this drug is so insidious. I've been an adult entertainer for 12 years; so I have seen my share. It isn't the taking the drug; it has been the POLITICS of it that has affected my life in a negative way. Believe it or not; if I actually would have DONE the damn drug; my life would have been much easier. Fuck them; they will not win.
THey catch these kids so young; and it is over. It is such an addictive high......assholes.

3. What exactly leads you to blame the "dealers?"
Are dealers the only responsible parties?

4. The dealer's interest is to make as high a profit as possible
The user's interest is to feel good for a little while, often because the user feels bad almost all the time. I'll align my sympathy with the latter, thanks.

6. It depends on how much the user is using.
There are plenty of users out there that use it as a social party drug for years. Others get addicted. It's a weird drug that takes over some people's lives and others don't find it addictive.

5. Everyone's responsible.
Dealers just provide the product. Anyway, I find it unusual that a kid that young was really into coke. It's crazy expensive unless you have a really good hookup, then it's just expensive. Most people I know doing coke are 30-40.

7. I tried coke...once in the 70's
My opinion was "I could get used to this" and never did it again.

Irony, of ironies, I got addicted to alcohol.
Go figure.

10. I used to do it a lot.
Enough that friends were getting concerned. Then circumstances required me to quit. I wanted it, but I didn't need it. There were no withdrawals. I just kind of wanted it. I was a daily user. Since quitting, I've done it a few times. Cigarettes are way more addictive.

9. Try living in an apartment building with dealers
if you do, keep in mind that the basement laundry room is usually soundproofed if you have to beat the ever loving shit out of him/them.

Another tip, if and when you finally move out - hired movers carry very heavy things all day long, and they can be encouraged, usually for a twenty, to assist you in a final dealer stomping, before transporting you stuff to greener pastures.

15. True
I mean did the one kid actual think the paramed was gonna say, "Oh, he does coke all the time? I guess we're not needed then."
What's scary is how these kids acted like it was no big deal.

16. I wasn't allowed to hang out with my peers as a child.

I know that I missed a lot but I was never exposed to the drug culture. Now that I'm old enough to play like a kid again I've got better sense than to do things that are totally bad for me. Coke has no redeeming value!

One of my best friends in the world died of a heroin overdose. It's not pretty.

22. A former friend recently died of a heart attack in his 30's
He had done a variety of drugs, including alcohol but coke was really his thing. Anytime that he had money, he bought coke. He was deeply in debt and ended up agreeing to garnishment for his rent because he was having trouble paying it because he had a tendency to blow his check on the stuff. A few years ago, he had his first heart attack. He admitted his drug use. The doctor told him how had that stuff was for him, especially his heart. He quit for about six months. Then he started up again, doing as much if not more than ever. This past fall he died. If he would have stayed off of it, he'd probably be still alive.
I hope that this kid wises up. Regular coke use leads to death.
