THE DODGERS WON A BALL GAME!
They tried to give it away like they have four of the last five, but they won it in the ninth with little ball.

:woohoo: :bounce:

1. Good for you
The Twins are skidding again.

Cripes, we may as well be the damn Royals.

4. Yeah I know
I hate it when my team looks good on paper, but plays like ass in the field.

5. That's what LA's been doing
Get a lead, or at least be in the game, then in the late innings the bullpen eats it.

Almost happened tonight. Dodgers were leading 3-1 with one out in the eighth. Lowe throws a gopher to Lee, so they bring in Hamulack, whose ERA is somewhere between here and Betelguese. He gives up two singles, so they bring in Baez, the closer. He hits the first guy he faces, then throws one to the backstop. Tied up.

Cirillo got tossed in the ninth for bitching about a called third, then Yost followed him.

Furcal led off the bottom of the ninth with a swinging bunt, a la Rod Carew. Cruz Jr. bunted him over and Garciaparra hit a grounder that kicked off first base. Furcal scores. Game over. W00t!

6. Could be worse
Could be the Cubs.

Zambrano can't get win to save his life. 0-2 in what...6 starts? 7?

The nice thing about skids though, KW, is that they end.

It's those 98-year-long bottomless pits that you've gotta worry about...

7. Well the Twins have quite a long time to go before
the 98 year bottomless pit. But I hated watching the White Sox win the World Series last year.

9. And the Pads won their 6th straight. 1-0 in 11.
Chan Ho Park went 9, gave up 0 runs, only 2 hits and got a no decision.
The Friars are getting hot!

10. Must be another Chan Ho Park
The one who used to be with the Dodgers couldn't get out of the fifth.

14. I didn't get to watch the game at all
This pesky little thing called 'work', y'know?

THAT'S why they're losing. I haven't been able to watch a game all week...and they've been losing all week.

Hmmmmmm....

My son pitched 5 innings of four hit, 2 walk, 2 run (one of them unearned) baseball today in 50 degree "heat".

18. How many pitches?
How many for strikes? What was his speed in the fifth compared to the first? Was he getting the ball up or down in the later innings? Did he have control of his breaking stuff through all five? Was he... gaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!

:hi:
