1. Normally, you should be able to hit the disk eject on the keyboard... |
|
Also, you can drag the icon of the DVD from the desktop into the trash and that will eject the disk.

I forgot about the eject button.
The machine read it as a blank dvd after a few minutes and gave me a menu. Upon further examination of the disc (A copy of Roning that I rented from the video store) The disc had a damn crack noear the center.

3. If the usual methods don't work |
|
there should be a tiny pinhole in one corner of the disk tray, or next to it. Stick an unbent paperclip into it and gently push until the catch releases.

5. Do you have a disk tray or just a slot that sucks the DVD in? |
|
If it's just a slot, I guess there isn't a pinhole; I just looked at my iMac and realized it doesn't have one (I normally use my iBook). However, I tried inserting the paperclip at the far right of the slot and it immediately spit the disk out at me, so I assume the catch is right there. The pinhole method is a documented method from Apple and will not harm your computer, but I can't say for sure about poking the clip into the slot even though it appears to have worked for me with no ill effects.
Also, try Command-E. That's the keystroke for eject. (Of course, if it doesn't recognize that it has anything to eject, that won't work.) I think there is also a key combination you can hold down while rebooting the computer that will eject the disk, but I can't remember what it is offhand. I'll Google and see if I can find it.
Good luck!

Hold mouse button down immediately after powering on. Here's where I found this: http://www.danrodney.com/mac/index.html

Or open iTunes and use the Eject Disc control there.
