1. Yep. For some reason my people eat festering duck embryo.
It's the grossest thing ever!!!

I don't get it at all. It can't taste good. It doesn't look good. It sure as hell doesn't smell good.

5. I don't know, the Japanese eat whale sperm.
That's still the highest on my gross list. Though I'd probably eat that before eating any kind of insect, so maybe I shouldn't say that whale sperm is the grossest.

13. I can see no nutritional reason for eating that...
Even if I were starving.

Grasshoppers remain at the top of my list of "Non-food Items"

They are the yickiest... Tastes like eating old cold chewing tobacco.

*cringe*

16. It doesn't have to be Asian to be gross
Edited on Sat May-06-06 02:08 PM by Generic Brad
Try lutefisk some time. There's nothing like month old white fish that has been soaking in lye the entire time.

20. Tried Jumping Cheese?
It's an Italian cheese that actually has maggots crawling on it.

Supposed to be delicious. Haven't tried it.

Have eaten pigs feet (not pickled), brains, liver, kidneys, tripe, tongue, heart, foie gras and oysters. Not all at the same time, of course.

And no, the manufacture of foie gras is not cruel. I've been on the farms, and the ducks and geese are NOT ill treated.

23. Okay, those farms weren't cruel. What about other ones?
There's plenty of photo & video proof of the cruelty at a factory farm. Those animals are treated horribly and it's extremely unsanitary.

24. With ducks & geese raised for foie gras
the point is not to stress them. Otherwise you don't get a good product.

Ducks and geese don't have a gag reflex, gorge themselves naturally before migration, and imprint on the people that feed them.

Yes, factory farming is bad. Hence, we eat free range chicken, grass fed, pastured pork, lamb and beef. Not only are the animals humanely raised, but the taste is better and the nutrition content is higher. Same with vegetables.

It's the whole buy fresh, buy local thing.

Remember, if you want to look at farmland, you have to eat the landscape.
