Donate to save wolves from aerial hunting

OK, Alaska has authorized the aerial slaughter of wolves, and many have already been killed. I haven't read the details because too much information like this makes my head explode, but I donated some money to the Defenders of Wildlife who are trying to fight this.

2. Are These Animals Endangered?

Are they dangerous to humans living in nearby areas? Are they over-populated? Is this a hunt that's authorized to thin out the population? Do the wolves harm other natural wildlife? Would TOO MANY wolves put a strain on the animals that are normally their prey? Are they attacking farm animals? Are they spreading disease?
