Going to Chicago tomorrow - what's there to do?
I am going to Wrigley of course to catch the Cubs play the Padres on Friday...but other than that what's there to do?

I'm sure there's tons - it's CHICAGO after all...

Someone told me there's great BBQ there....

3. 90 miles to the north.
and no, the 'L' does not get quite this far. The North Shore used to go all the way between the two cities, but it closed in about '63. But Metra gets you closer, and Amtrak drops you off downtown.

4. ok....ignore the cheeseheads trying to lure you up to wisconsin....
....for brats and crappy beer. ok, sure old style is the nectar of the gods and it happens to be brewed in lacrosse....but other than that, there's nothing to see there. ;)

head out for an italian beef sandwich at connie's on north and harlem. tell them you want it sweet, hot and wet. you'll be in heaven while you're eating it and you'll never want to leave town.

if rumors i heard were true and connie's is no longer there....check out jay's on narragansett near montrose.

then in the evening, head to superdawg on milwaukee and devon for the best hotdog and fries you'll ever have in your life.

there's plenty of great pizza in town as well.

What about Johnnie's on North a bit west of Harlem in Elmwood Park?

6. i used to like johnnie's...but last time i was there i wasn't that happy..
when i was a kid we used to go to carmie's and another place called margie's. both were west of harlem i think.

my favorite of all time was connie's on harlem and north. i had heard the owner died and the kids closed the place but i'm not sure if that's true. if so, it's an awful shame. they made their own giardinera and it was awesome.

jay's on naragansett is great also....the one in schiller park pales in comparison.
