1. Sa-weet!
I used to go to car shows every now and then with friends. I always appreciated the classic foreign rides more because they weren't as common as your average muscle car or big 50's boat.

5. I've been into Brit cars for about the last
ten years or so. Funny when I take my car to just a regular show
most people don't even know what it is.

9. Nice, I love British cars.
I had a AH 3000 back in college and a Spitfire MKII. My brother had a Spitfire, best friend had(still has) a GT6 and his brother had a AH Sprite. I was thinking of getting a classic Mini when the new ones came out and decided it was better to have a car without Lucas electrics.
Any Lotus 7s there? That and AC Cobras are my favorites

11. Jaguar fantasies? Try this site.
...and bring LOTS of money.

http://www.lynxmotors.co.uk

They START with an E-type engine and build it into a replica of the thunderacious racing D-Type from the Fifties. Or for those who want something a bit more...civilized, they will build an XKSS replica. (That was the street version of the D-Type. A fire in the factory destroyed all but 15 of them, one of which was owned by Steve McQueen.)

BTW, don't let the word "replica" conjure up images of a wobbly Fiberglas body. These cars are made of hand-beaten aluminum over wooden body bucks...just like the originals.

Gratuitous Book Suggestion: Le Mans '55 by by Christopher Hilton. I'm currently reading it. Mike Hawthorn in a Jaguar D-Type won Le Mans in 1955, but it was a hollow victory.

That was the race with the most horrific accident in motor racing history. A Mercedes SLR driven by Pierre Levegh collided with an Austin-Healey and went airborne. The Mercedes engine, front suspension and various other parts scythed thru a crowd of spectators, killing more than 80 people.

awhile. Very good site indeed. Who wouldn't be proud to own any of these replica or not. When I go to a show I really love looking at all the Jags. I always wanted and E-type but
I'm pretty happy with my TR4 I'm short so its easier to drive.
