That's the universal most hated question, BTW. When Cathyclysmic asks me if she looks fat in something, I always say "yes." It's our little joke, I hope.

35. Damn, you're taking me back! |

I can't pick just one, so here's my rundown;
Anthrax- what the kids whose parents wouldn't let them listen to other metal listened to. Slayer- fuckin' Slayer rules! Reign in Blood is a classic. Best metal album of all time. Napalm Death- grindcore, really. If you're in a band with overtly political lyrics- anunciate them. Exodus- awesome band. Paul Baloff, RIP. Annihilator- not terribly familiar with them. D.R.I.- great stuff. Lost focus after the Crossover album, though. The Accused- Splatter Rock! Loved the Accused, as well as Tommy's later project Gruntruck. Metallica- should have broken up after Cliff's death. Megadeth- first concert ever. They blew ass. Coroner- decent, if I remember. Kreator- they win for most ridiculous group photo on the back cover of Pleasure to Kill. Sadus- not familair with them, either. Forced Entry- see above. Agnostic Front- I'd say more hardcore than thrash. Victim in Pain was their best. Forbidden- not too familair with them. Testament- they should have been at a similar level of success along with Megadeth and Metallica, but sadly weren't. Alex Skolnik now heads a jazz combo. Dark Angel- cool band. Gene Hoglan was a big guy. Overkill- Saw them three times. Met them once, Very nice guys. M.O.D.- blew. Billy Milano is a racist, homophopic piece of shit. S.O.D.- with that said, Speak English or Die was a classic. Cro Mags- I couldn't get into these guys. Still, a Hare Krishna thrash band is a cool concept in my book. Ludichrist- fuckin' a- I got Immaculate Deception for $2 out of a cutout bin. Worth every penny. Death Angel- put on a hell of a show. The drummer was, like, 12 when I saw them. D.B.C.- not too familiar with them. Weren't they like a "smart metal" band? Suicidal Tendencies- first album was a gem. Everything after that, not so much. Heathen- cool Sweet cover. Vio-Lence- not too familiar. Flotsam & Jetsam- never got into them. Their greatest contribution to metal was watching their bass player land the gig of a lifetime.

Anthrax: Nearly everything they did during the Belladonna years was the shiznit. John Bush arrives: Meh. Turned them into Armored Anthrax. His voice simply didn't fit. Slayer: I mean. . . they're Slayer. Is there anything else to say after that? COME on. Took a picture with Kerry King in Lorain. Really nice guy. Snake collector. Seeing them in June. Napalm Death: Was into them when all my friends were going "aw man, that's shit". Still dig em. "The Silence is Deafening" is a great song and they're hardcore Bush & Blair haters. Exodus: Saw them with Bailoff and Zetro. Of course they ruled the club both times. Fabulous Disaster tour in 89 with Forbidden - HUGE pit, killer tunes. Annihilator: Alice in Hell had it's moments, but other than that, MEH. Randy Rampage should have stayed in D.O.A.. He looks like Ric Flair in his NWA years. D.R.I.: One of my all time favorites. Sadly, Spike has been diagnosed with colon cancer. Hope he gets better. The Accused: Martha Splatterhead. Seattle crossover. GOTTA dig it. Metallica: Cliff years killed. Justice: still stellar. Then they had to go and release Smell the Glove. The end. All they've made since then are mullet prom anthems. Megadeth: Peace Sells and Rust In Peace were really their only two good albums. But DAMN I love Peace Sells. Never saw them live. My friends smoked weed with Mustaine in 86. Coroner: Seek this band out. Swiss techno-thrash from the late 80s. Mental Vortex and No More Color were their good ones. Kreator: Meh Sadus: Good fast Bay Area thrash. Forced Entry: Seattle thrash way ahead of it's time. Blueprint for many of today's mathcore groups. Agnostic Front: Great band, great songs. Forbidden: Two great underrated albums in Twisted Into Form and Forbidden Evil. Testament: Yes, they SHOULD have had the success Metallica and Anthrax did. Dark Angel: Hoglan. That's all you need to know. A huge legend. Saw him with Strapping Young Lad twice. Seems like he gets better every year. Overkill: They were good every third album. M.O.D.: I liked 'em, even though their lyrics weren't that good on the first album. S.O.D.: CLASSIC. Live, there ain't no stopping them. Cro Mags: This is one band I wish I would have seen at their peak. SO mad I didn't go to the Age of Quarrel shows. Loved that album. Ludichrist: Immaculate Deception to this day remains a metalcore classic. Fast as hell. The drummer has posted old vids of them on youtube. Death Angel: Great band up until Act III, then they sucked. D.B.C.: Canadian band who released Universe, one of the most underrated and ahead of it's time albums of that genre. Suicidal Tendencies: I liked their first two albums and everything after that SUUUUUUCKED. Heathen: Meh. Vio-Lence: Great thrash, even better live act. Rob Flynn and Phil Demmell are now in Machine Head. Flotsam & Jetsam: MEH. Grey matter band who sucked live.
