Question about Old Grey Whistle Test program |
|
Was it a show where the acts generally performed the songs live or did they mime to pre-recorded tape?
I've heard it referred to as (for it's time) the premier live music program for British television. However, I've purchased both of the "Best of" DVDS and there are moments where it appears that the bands are just miming along (most apparent during a performance by the Who). On other occasions there are enough cues that it would appear that a performer is playing and being recorded live.
Anyway, was just wondering if someone in the know could clarify if OGWT was live, Memorex, or a combination of the two.
Thanks.

was a great programme. If it's just clips from the series then it should be live music. Here's an article about it. http://www.bbc.co.uk/southampton/music/ogwtindex.shtml
