mac 9.1 IE question..help!! |
|
okay, I cannot figure out how to increase the memory allotted for IE on my powerbook.
I went to "get info" after highlighting the icon and all it has is "general information" and nothing about memory there.
I tried to find the info on the internet, but all I'm coming up with are people trying to sell me software...
also, when I run Norton disk repair, or whatever, it says I have multiple systems folders...this has happened over and over on my powerbook, and I don't know why or how.
help!!

1. Do a 'find' (apple-f) on 'System Folder' and get rid of one of them |

6. Go to Control Panels:Startup Disk |
|
and find out what System Folder you have been starting up with. This is probably the one you want to keep.
Before you erase the other System Folder, move the 'Extensions' and 'Preferences' folder to a third location (the Desktop, for instance).

(go to start up disk) it only shows the mac hd icon, which doesn't open when I click on it.
I can go to the hd and search for system folders, I suppose?

2. Make sure you're not clicking for info on an alias. |
|
Be sure you're clicking on the program icon. :)

3. Ditto, go to the actual IE icon in your hardrive and not the alias on your |
|
desktop. That should solve your problem.
