Did I ever tell you that stomach flu sucks big-time?
On Saturday, ginbarn and I travelled down from Dallas to Waco to watch her sister graduate at Baylor. As soon as we got hold of ginbarn's sister, however, ginbarn started feeling really sick and told me she needed to go back home. Then her strength left her, and when I finally got her back in the car, she threw up. Fortunately, we had some empty bags in the backseat for her to use.

After a rough two-hour trip back up to Dallas, we got home, and ginbarn started feeling worse. Now her vomiting has been joined by body aches, and she was running a fever of 103 F.

Now it's my turn. I think I got the stomach flu from her. Body aches, stomach acid, projectile vomiting, you name it. I haven't had solid food for about 24 hours, nor have I really felt confident with trying any.

Still, it could be worse. 10 years ago, I got an even worse case of stomach flu - it was so bad that I could feel all of my internal organs throbbing inside me. I felt like I was going to die. ginbarn, bless her heart, brought me bottled water and soda in bed. But the really weird part of that case of stomach flu was the way my strength came back to me in pretty substantial waves. Only 12 hours after writhing in bed, I felt well enough to head up to the driver's license office and renew my own license. Go figure.

1. that sucks.
Glad you are feeling better. I haven't had it in several years, thank goodness. My Mom got something really bad a while back that flattened her for a week. This is someone who always gets a quarterly cash bonus for perfect attendence, and she was in bed for a week. Luckily it didn't spread to any of the rest of us.
