Shitty day today.

I went to the store and my son was a little hellion. Finally got what I couldn't live without and was on my way home to put the little brat in bed when my mother called. One of her best friends since childhood is dying and she needs me to pick her up from work so she can meet somebody at her house to go to the hospital together. Poor Mom is a mess. :( It breaks my heart to see her upset.

I take her to her house and wait around until her frinds get there to go see him. He went to the hospital with back and stomach pain and it turns out he has cancer all thorough his abdomen and only a few days to live. This weekend he was just a guy with a sore back and no clue he was almost dead.

So I'm pretty fucking depressed at the thought, anxious to get my bratty kid home before he breaks something at mom's house 'o clutter and worried about my mother when I head out to my car. I got a parking ticket while I was inside. Not. My. Day.

So he's at most in his early 50's. They say he probably won't make it to Friday. :(

They used to date. He always told Mama that he still loves her and that he'd drop any other lady in the world if she was interested. Listening to her talk I think mom still loves him too.

It's probably worse for your mom's friend, though. It's weird to think about how quickly one's life can change, in the span of one doctor's appt. What a bummmer for him. I'm sorry about your mom's friend.

Getting a ticket sucks, too, but at least it's not much worse than that. Hang in there.

Cancer is what finally turned me into an athiest..I can't believe in a god that could let this thing happen.
