What's for dinner?
Edited on Mon May-15-06 06:23 PM by GirlinContempt
Me, I'm having prime rib roast that I'm currently marinating in red wine and covering in peppercorns, some corn on the cob, fresh baby potatoes, and yorkshire pudding. I have some strawberry cheesecake left over for dessert, and a nice bottle of Argentinian wine.

You?

1. I have no idea.

I guess it depends on whether or not anyone actually comes over.

Dh won't be home until 7 or 8. A family member and his SO may be coming over sometime this evening (as yet, undefined as they are on the road, still hours away).

Gah.

On edit: Invite me over, so I don't have to worry about it. :D

10. Damn, I'm impressed!
Me: a couple spring rolls from the market (shrimp, crab, and avocado) and a green salad.

This makes up for the cheese steak and fries I had for lunch.

14. Whoa! Magnifico! Herby chicken & "dressing patties" here.
Bite sized chicken breast bits marinated in Worcestershire Chicken Sauce and rosemary, sage, and dill?
The dressing patties are basically Stove-Top-Dressing mixed with some chicken broth and just about all the herbs Miz t. can scare up from the garden and/or the spice rack.

Our old and, unhappily, late friend Hilda from Germany, by way of British East Africa (way back when) cooked them for us and gave us the recipe.

Mix all the dressing stuff up, make into about 4" patties, and sautee in peanut, olive, bacon grease, lard, or whatever.
Fantastic!

'Nuther hint:
Make extra, freeze 'em and nuke 'em later.

"Pass me some more of them little bullet peas, wifey."
Honest-to-god, he called my grandmother "wifey".
She didn't seem to mind.
It was a long time ago.

26. EP is making us salmon tonight
I don't know all the details but he mentioned something about a lemony-butter sauce in which to broil it (or something like that). Also, he's making rice pilaf and some stir-fried veggies from the fridge (I think we have zucchini, sugar snap peas, spinach, and he'll throw in some potatoes for me since I'm a potato fan).

I'm sure he'll put up a post about how magnificent it is once he finishes - he's the chef of this family! He literally just walked out the door to make a run to the store. So, his post will be up later, I'm sure of it. He loves to share his recipes (and he's damn good at cooking, so I can't blame him).

By the way, I do know how lucky I am to have a SO who loves to cook. I'd be eating Ramen noodles tonight if he weren't here. :9
