Wish me surgery luck for tomorrow!
Last week playing softball, I accidentally had my left thumb yanked back all the way. Tore the ulnar collateral ligament completely and the doc is going to re-attach it tomorrow afternoon.

It's a minor outpatient procedure that takes about 45 minutes, but they have to use general anesthetic. Should be no big deal, I'll be in a cast for a month afterwards.

Out of curiosity (and mods, I am NOT requesting medical advice here)...who has had this surgery and how long did it take for your thumb to be 100%?

1. Good luck KyuzoGator
Hope all works out well for you and that everything heals quickly. I had no idea a ligament could tear by having your thumb yanked back..it sounds painful.

3. When it happened, it was 9 out of 10 on the "worst pain" scale.
Not pleasant.

6. Best of luck tomorrow.
Just remember, under the circumstances, vicodin is your friend. Better yet, be sure your doctor knows that.

Hope it's not too uncomfortable.

That's a nasty injury you got there, but I'm glad the surgery is outpatient.
