How many people have a BABY JAIL?
Or as they are more commonly known - a playpen. They seem like they'd be pretty useful, but I hardly ever see them anymore.

1. We had one for naps
Every now and then I'd put LK in there so I could get a shower too. He started climbing out of it well before he was a year old though, so I donated it.

3. Ditto. Used it for naps.
Handed it down to a friend, recently.

4. My niece has one..
They use it a lot, mostly in the living room. But if they will be somewhere for a few hours, they will take a few panels and set up a mini "jail" there too.

6. I fenced in a whole corner of the living room with plastic barriers.
We called it the baby cage.

They're like dogs, if they're crate-trained they are very comfortable there.

8. My brother and his wife did that when his twins were babies
I used to tease him and call it the baby prison. They had to, having two toddlers at the same time would have been overwhelming without some kind of system.

7. They're smaller now
Or so it seems. Nowadays everyone calls it a "Pack and Play" (probably a trademark, but everyone uses it as a noun, like Kleenex), instead of a playpen.

They're about 2 1/2 x 3', whereas when I was a kid it seemed like they were 4 x 5', and not as easy to fold up and move around.

9. we don't use them, but we do put a gate on the door to the living room
so that the twins can't roam around the house. They get into everything. They are almost to the point where they can climb over, my three year old has been able to climb over for a long time. We do use the Pack n Play when we travel for them to sleep in (they each have one).

10. we had a pack and play and a baby jail
the pack and play we used as a playpen before he could walk - he loved being able to pull himself up in it. and the baby jail was used to keep the dogs and kids separate for play time. :)

11. More proof that for every situation in life...
...there's a Simpsons quote that's relevant.

Apu: Hello, I'd like to take advantage of your baby prison.
Marge: Uuh, we're calling it daycare.
Apu: Yes, whatever just take them.
Homer: Oh, aren't they sweet. Any medical things I should know about?
Apu: :running: Yes, probably.
