4. They went easy on her in that story
Child safety advocates prefer that kids less than a year old sit in car seats facing backward

How about, "Child safety advocates mandate that kids less than a year old sit in car seats facing backward"?

8. and weighing less than 20 pounds also.
It is a physical developmental milestone. She is a buffoon, and dangerous to that child.

14. A year is the safe minimum
No seat sold in the US is tested or labeled for forward facing use in kids under one year due to the high risk of crippling or fatal spinal cord injuries in even very minor accidents. So while there's no legal requirement in CA (some states have specific language relating to rear facing to one year and 20 lbs or to using the seat according to manufacturers instuructions, which would include that) using the seat in a manner inconsistent with it's labeling is very dangerous.

22. We followed the "one year AND 20-pounds" requirement...
in fact, our six-year-old was only 19 pounds on her first birthday, and we kept her rear facing until she was 22 pounds (which was the weight limit on her rear-facing seat).

23. Gee, I wish I'd had small kids
I was worried mine would outgrow the 35 lb rear facing limit on his seat before he was a year. He's ginormous. :scared:

24. That was my worry with my son...
I worried he would outgrow his seat both by weight and height.

Jane started out big (9 lbs, 8 oz at birth), and wound up very slight in weight (she's 6 and barely tips the scales at 40 pounds.)

Julian started out big (10 lbs, 9 oz at birth)...and stayed that way, LOL! He's two years younger than his sister and ten pounds heavier.

3. Some of this is getting a little... well... petty...
Britney's an idiot, I'll give you that. And the fact that she's fecklessly pumping out children with K Fed the Douchebag isn't too attractive either.

But what's next? Britney didn't use the proper amount of baby ointment after changing Sean Preston's diaper? What a stupid waste of space this article is!

Leave the poor little dough-faced blonde alone. She's suffering enough due to mere stupidity.

7. Sorry. I disagree.
Car seats have instructions on them. She is using this seat improperly. In the event of a crash, that child would be killed.

26. Also the nanny's job:
to take the fall when kid falls out of highchair.

I'm sure that her mother hired her a *qualified* nanny when that kid was born. I hope that they pay her well, because with all of the bad press that that person is getting blamed for--he or she will probably never work again.

10. Actually, it is the baby who would suffer due to "mere" stupidity.
She seems incapable of figuring out how to properly transport her child in a car. Child safety seats are often used improperly, but not usually this blantantly.

money doesn't buy common sense and child safety!

I'm looking at this as a mother-in-law AND grandmother....I would be filing a custody suit against Brit by now. Oh, and where is the outrage by the fundies who
held vigils for Terri

Afterall, right to life should apply to living infants too, eh?
