Are there any DU women who are Pigs? Or I suppose "sows" |
|
Edited on Tue May-16-06 06:01 PM by HEyHEY
Seriously, there HAS to be women on this website that are like some of the guys here in regards to promiscuous activities. But, as we all know, it isn't cool for girls to admit they are not looking for anything more than a bunch of bed-ups with as many men as possible. Blame society's double standards and the bible for that. So, women of DU who are this way, you may admit it here, and I shall support you and even give you the occasional hi-five.
So, which ones are ye?

I'm trying to play the united, feminist angle here... if you start in with the less-than-subtle, "what are your phone numbers" remarks, you're gonna scare all the talent away.

I desire someone to wait on my, rub my feet, bring me drinks, and clean the bathroom. Hmm, non-emotionally tieing sex? Could work, so long as all the other crap prior to this takes place also.

6. I only had a couple casual hooks up |
|
And I don't know what the big deal is about having a large quantity of partners. I really don't get it at all. The longer you are with someone, if they care about you, the better they get about doing things that work best for you, if you know what I mean. In general, I think that women have greater risks by hooking up with a lot of different men, especially strangers (possible pregnancy, easier transmission of venereal diseases which can be more devestating, partners more likely to be violent, social sanctions, ect.)

28. being truly liberated also means |
|
that we're free to be discriminating about partners... or to even hold out.
It always seemed odd to me that sexual liberation meant that you were free to be promiscuous. I always thought that liberation, in the truest sense, meant that you were entitled to control your own destiny.

11. I had a reputation as a "slut" in my distant youth |
|
Even then, I wasn't really sure what that meant. I grew up in the 70's which was a time when people were a lot more casual about a lot of things. For one thing, we didn't tend to have steady boyfriends as early as kids seem to now. Even when we did, it was a given that we were both dating other people - that was how you got to know members of the opposite sex and discovered what kind of guy (or girl) worked for you.
And yeah, I slept with a lot of them. I've never really felt that you had to be in love in order to have sex but I also never slept with people I didn't know or who I wasn't close to in some way - friends. We were all friends. And frankly, it was a pretty nice time.
I can honestly say that within a committed relationship, I've NEVER cheated on my partner. So I don't think my youth indicates some severe morality problem - I think it indicates healthy curiosity.

You mean as a societal standard? Because men have always tried to own women? Because men wanted to insure they were raising their own children?
Doesn't matter to me what other women do, but I have no interest in sleeping with a bunch of strangers.

30. What does one get by having sex w/ a bunch of different guys? |
|
Maybe, there is something that I don't understand about that. As I mentioned above, women are the ones that get pregnant, several STDs are transmitted easier from men to women and more devestating physically for a woman, a stranger that she picks up at a bar is more likely to be violent, and there is the double standard (A man who has had sex with many women is a desirable SO but A woman who has had sex with many men is only good for sex, not a relationship). What would I have gotten from having many partners while in college instead of settling down with my husband my sophomore year? It wasn't quality sex.

39. Women get a bad "prestige", Should sex be about that anyway? |
|
I have suspected that some men who are promiscous do it because they are having some real or imaginary contest with other men in which having sex with the most women is the goal. Doesn't that make sex kind of hollow? Isn't that like just making money instead of enjoying it so you can have the achievement of making the most money?

My husband actually convinced his promiscous fraternity brother that there might be something to monagamy. My husband pointed out that he was having more and consistantly good sex than his studly friend. His friend did settle down with a long time friend a short time after.

I was exhausted and just wanted to get laid. I got laid. I had another quasi-hookup. Then I had to go sleep with this really incredible man who actually treated me well that I was massively compatible with, and I fell in love again.
Now in happy monogamy-land again. :D
There have been a few times in my life where I did just want sex. Sex comes to me easily. I never lied to anyone and we enjoyed ourselves. No apologies. No regrets.

Do you mean fucking and all the rest, or USING men for money, emotions-whatever- breaking hearts and damaging lives just for the hell of it?
There's women who don't need to engage in any sexual activity to get what they "want" out of a man. And it's not very difficult, you pick the emotionally vulnerable ones, keep dangling the carrot--the hope of a relationship/sex and use the stupid motherfucker up. Then go get another one. Like I said, sex doesn't have to be involved at all. And you have your stud and guaranteed orgasm on the side. It's not very nice behavior, it's extremely cruel, psychologically it's probably a kind of backlash at being objectified. It's still mean as hell.
Now as far as a women's sexual choices I be as happy as anybody when the day comes women can make those choices not out of rebellion or damage but out of healthy sexuallity, without being called a slut, whore, or a c*** or passed over to the next man because the guys know they'll get some.
