Dating outside your ethnic group. |
|
I would imagine interracial dating might be more common among liberals. On the other hand maybe not, since Southern slave holders and segregationists never let their feelings of racial superiority stop them from getting black women pregnant.
I was thinking about women I've dated today and realized its a fairly diverse group. I'm white and have dated women whose heritage was Indian, African-American, Filipino, Japanese, Native American, and various European nations. I feel like I should find a girlfriend from Latin America just to round things out. :)
Anyway, no real point to this post, just random thoughts today. I've never found dating outside my own race to be a particular challenge or issue. Maybe the nation has progressed enough to be mostly beyond caring too much?

1. Never really thought about it till others bring it up... |

My first childhood "Girlfriend" was a Native American, as I got older I dated Puerto Ricans, White, Chinese, Vietnamese, and recently a woman who was about 3/4s black, 1/4 Japanese.
As they show on TV and stuff, the problems usually come from parents, but I personally never had any shame for such superficial matters, and my parents were accepting, its no big deal.

The nation has not progressed so far that race doesn't matter. But it can and it should and it will.

3. I've dated girls that were outside mine. |

I had a girlfriend that was Filipino, and one that was African American (and a dead ringer for a shorter Naomi Campbell). I'm as white as they come, too. I don't think that there should be any problem or issue with it. I hope someday everyone shares that view.
