Okay, so they're doing a remake of 007's Casino Royale

2. That thing's gonna suuuuuuuuuuck

Really. The new Bond dude looks all wrong, he's a wuss who can't handle the stunts without getting hurt and he can't drive a stick (and apparently couldn't be bothered to learn even though he's making a gazillion bucks on this movie.)

4. Daniel Craig is not Bond

Trashing Craig as Bond has become sport on the Bond fan sites. Some of the complaints:

There are attributes all the movie Bonds shared in common: tall, dark, handsome and suave, just as Ian Flemming described. Daniel Craig is short, blond with a craggy face and uncharismatic. FWIW, I think he would make a terrific Bond henchman.



1) He shocked producers when he revealed that he can’t drive a stick. They had to shut down filming so they had to convert the Aston Martin to automatic drive.

2) He hates guns. Sure lots of people hate guns, including Roger Moore. It's just another acting hurdle before he will look comfortable with a firearm.

3) He's afraid of the water and demanded that he wear a life jacklet on all the water shoots despite the fact that there were rescue swimmers standing by if anything went wrong.

4) He can’t fight, losing his two front teeth in his first stunt.

5) He can’t play cards. Shocked producers again when he revealed that he didn't know the first thing about playing cards. Shut down filming again while they flew an expert in so he doesn't look like a complete idiot.

5. I'll probably see it if it gets halfway decent reviews

Daniel Craig was great in Layer Cake and I saw a teaser for Casino Royale a couple of weeks ago. It actually looks pretty good--much grittier than Bond movies have been in the past.

7. Interesting tidbit

Assuming that Brosnan never returns as 007, Brosnan will go down as the only Bond to have never made a film based on an Ian Fleming title.
