Ignore the critics - The Da Vinci code is freaking awesome! |
|
I just got back from seeing it. I don't want to go into too much detail because I want to try to keep this spoiler free. The movie was awesome. I have not read the book, but if anyone who did read the book wants to PM me and ask me about a specific detail to see if it really did stay true to the book, go ahead. I thought the movie was great. It had an oustanding cast including not only Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou, but also Ian McKellen, Alfred Molina, Jean Reno, and Paul Bettany. It is a long movie, but I was surprised at how fast it went by. It kept you entertained and I found myself running to the bathroom and back to make sure I didn't miss anything. Regardless of those who says Ron Howard is a bad director, the direction in the move was great along with the score. I would say this is a must see movie if you want to actually watch something with substance instead of a teen flick or Kurt Rusself movie!
Feel free to ask me any questions! :hi:

I was in a book club and they picked that book. I didn't really have any qualms about it so I read it. I actually liked the book and I will probably see the movie some day. I don't go to the movies so i will wait until it comes out on DVD and then borrow it..lol.
It looks like you enjoyed it, and that's all that matters. :hi:

6. Thank you, my dear Ava! |

I was vacillating on whether to see it or not.....
You just gave me a very large nudge towards seeing it on the big screen...
I'll probably go by myself to a matinee after all the hubbub has died down ........
I did read, and did love, the book! I recommend it highly!

13. I didn't know Alfred Molina was in it. |

I've worked with his wife, Jill Gascoine for a couple months. Only met him briefly though.

Not sure why the reviews were so bad. No it wasn't the best movie ever but it was fun and entertaining.

19. I LIKE Kurt Russel movies! |
|
That aside, I saw it yesterday afternoon, and was thoroughly entertained. Opie did it again! I especially like the way the writer drew from real historical events, and the way the "flashbacks" were depicted on the screen. And Tom Hanks has come a LONG way from his days of wearing a dress on a TV sitcom.
