1. Good team up that
Garland and Mason. She had a beautiful singing voice and he had a facinating speaking voice.

2. that was a remake
The original version came out in 1937 and starred Fredrich March and Janet Gaynor who were nominated for Oscars. The movie got a Best Picture nomination too. It's very good.

6. You're welcome
Other stars in the movie are Noah Beery, May Robson, Adolphe Menjou and Andy Devine.

It differs somewhat from the remake in that Esther Blodgett here is a star-struck kid from small-town America who comes to Hollywood to be an actress whereas in Judy's version, she's more of a show biz veteran already.

There's a cute scene where Janet does some impersonations of different movie stars. There's also a funny "wife trying to cook in the trailer while hubby drives" sequence that viewers of "Long Long Trailer" might recognize.

I'm a Fredrich March fan too.

7. I always had the feeling
Lucy and Desi lifted that scene from "A Star Is Born." Breaks me up when Tacy (Lucy) falls out of the trailer into the mud puddle and Nicky (Desi) goes, "Wha's the matter, honey? Can' you sleep?"

Ever see March in "The Best Years of our Lives," "An Act of Murder" or "The Desperate Hours"? Outstanding actor.
