I don't want to clean my apartment
But I have to have it clean by Wednesday. Now, I am having important people over Wed and Th, so I will have it clean by then, but I'm wondering if there's any way I can trick myself into cleaning it well before my usual inspirational state of last-second panic sets in. It only takes four or five hours to do a decent job of things, but I'm also thinking about Spring cleaning so I sort of want to do everything--move furniture, disassemble/clean bicycle, that sort of thing. Is worrying about that a covert method of avoidance? Or should I just do the quick and "dirty" so-to-speak four hours and worry about the full overhaul later? And please note that I hate vacuuming my stairs, so don't bring that up in any motivational advice you have to give me.

1. I have to clean house to, just putting it off.
I wish the clean house fairy would show up and do it for me.

...just so I would sleep too late to feasibly clean tomorrow morning. I hope you're not doing the same here. :patriot:

4. The more you think about it, the more overwhelming it gets. Just start in
ONE corner. Just clean that one corner. FOCUS on the one corner. When that corner is done, move on to another area and clean it. If you break it down into smaller tasks it really gets a lot easier.

Also, prioritize it. What area would be the most important to be clean for the people coming over? Save the least important stuff for last.

6. Hire someone to do it.
That's what I do - my time is too valuable to waste it on doing something that I despise and find no fulfillment from doing.

7. I don't want to clean your apartment either

Really though, I wish you luck with that. I'm one of the worst procrastinators in the world but once I finally get going, I get the job done. The key for me is to snap on some tunes and just start. Easier said then done I know but...

Good Luck.

10. We really need to clean our apartment...
But we are just too lazy. I have shoes everywhere, and if I'd put up the clean laundry out of the hamper, we wouldn't have dirty clothes all over the floor of the bedroom. God, We suck at keeping house.
