What is your best piece of memorabilia?
I have a ball signed by Thurman Munson the day before he died.

The way I remember this was I was a kid in bed sleeping. My dad comes in and wakes me up to give me a baseball. I was young and had no idea who it was (I was a Cubs fan and had no idea about the AL).

The next day my dad asked me if I still had the ball. He said it was going to be valuable because the guy had just died. They way he got it was he hanging out in the bar after work when some guys walked in after the Sox game. One of them had caught a foul ball hit by Munson and hung around to get it autographed. He was passing it around the bar and my father stuck it in his pocket and walked out.

What do you own?

6. A Jack Dempsey autographed menu from his restaurant.
My grandparents were in NYC in 1971 and ate at Jack Dempsey's place. Jack would walk around the establishment and talk to the patrons. He went to my GP's table and struck up a converstaion with my grandfather, who attended many of his fights during the 20's. Grandpa asked for an autograph for me, his oldest grandchild. Jack took a menu and signed a personalized autograph for me.
Its in a frame on my wall.
I also have mnay baseball cards from the 40's-early 90's. Rookie cards of Nolan Ryan, Willie McCovey, Roger Clemens, Tony Gwynn (autographed), Frank Howard and Barry Bonds.

13. Look for an art restorer
I got a couple of old ads deacidified a few years back. I used a guy in Chicago and it was kinda pricey but worth it. The ads still look wonderful and they say they will never yellow.

9. I don't have any memorabilia per se but
I have my great-great grandfather's Civil War officer's belt buckle. That thing was THERE at the Seven Days, at Malvern Hill, at Fredericksburg and Petersburg and Appomattox. I hold that thing and I'm holding history in my hands. Powerful stuff.

the one and only Vin Scully in August of 1989. I have listened to him call Dodger games all my life and it meant the world to me to finally tell him how wonderful he is. He signed my ticket stub and I will cherish it forever.
