Inadvertent Venison Marinara |
|
Edited on Sun May-21-06 06:16 PM by trof
Miz t.'s had a jones for some spaghetti marinara with ground beef for a few days. Tonight's the night.
I went in for a taste. "I think I pulled a baggie of ground venison instead of beef out of the freezer." Yep, I think so. The texture and flavor is just a leeetle different. But, DAMN! IT'S GOOD!
We've discovered a new recipe. :-)

1. I've never tried venison |
|
but it sounds great.
I only use ground bison for recipes...no ground beef. I can get it at the local butcher for cheaper than ground beef at the grocery store.

5. I once made Inadvertant Pork Chop Stew |
|
I was making a chicken stew and I took two freezer bags of what I thought was chicken out of the frig - turned out one was pork. But like yours, it tasted great. The chops were tender and had taken on the flavor of the stew - amazingly good.
I love venison - haven't had any in years. Do you ever put it in chili? :9
