Why Are People Snarky?
Edited on Sun May-21-06 11:17 PM by Liberalynn
In a television forum I frequent, I specifically asked for the answer to a question about one specific character on a show's series finale. I also spelled out very clearly that I wanted no other information about any of the other characters or plot points.

I explained that I was very unhappy with the spoilers I had read before hand and had chosen not to watch the finale. I explained that even though I know it was extremely silly, I was very very sad that one of my favorite couples on the show was not going to end up together, and that reading any more details about it would make me unhappier, and ruin my much preferred need for happy endings to my favorite stories. Stupid and not realistic I know, but I am depressed enough about real life. I don't need someone spoling my fantasies too.

I was just curious what if any mention they had given to another character who had already left the show. That's all. It wasn't even tied in storyline wise with the couple.

Do you know someone had to take great delight in telling me the details, I had specifically asked them not to give because I would find it too sad. Why are people like that?

I know the show isn't real life and neither are the characters but why do people take such great pride in taking away other's small pleasures even over something as simple as TV show? Hey we didn't get the Rove indictment. Was it too much to ask that I could live in denial about a TV program?

It wouldn't surprise me if it were a damned asshole rethug.

1. I'm not sure that qualifies as snarky.
More like ass-holery.

And I wish I had the answer to your question. All I know is, it's epidemic. :(

3. Aw, shucks.
All I did was to call an asshole an asshole!

When someone treated me like that on DU once, I asked them "why are you peeing in my cornflakes?" :)
