I'm sort of tired of being single.

I used to live in Alaska in the early 70s, yrv girl, when I was a kid and have been dying to go back. northofdenali wants me to come visit and LynnTheDem has extended her hospitality, too.

The problem is not money, the problem is time. We'll see!

46. The male buddy I am going to Baltimore with this weekend...
He and his wife, for their summer trip together two years ago, went to Vancouver. I got lots of postcards and pictures from them and they brought me back a Vancouver T-shirt!

I remember the summers in Fairbanks. There was never a cloudless sky, but the weather was always great and once it even made it above 100 degrees. When I came back south, people were always surprised to hear that it got above 100 degrees in Alaska.

6. Probably.
It's easy to find men. It's even fairly easy to find medium-to-high-quality men that are worth dating for awhile.... but the whole thing of turning six months or a year into permanence, well, THAT trick eludes me even now. :(

Oh, well, then definitely.
Try putting up an ad on Craigslist, I've had a ton of good luck there. Go out and date a lot casually, it's fun to have several coffee dates with different guys, and just see who floats your boat.

Something I wish someone had told me when I was, like, 19: Men are easy.

10. You're a woman-with low enough standards you could get one by midnight.
Why you'd want one, I don't know. I'm separated, and right now all I can think is that lonely is better than a bad relationship. That'll probably change one day. Plus, I have kids, so I'm not really lonely, just unromantic.

It's late, I'm babbling. Good luck! :-)

16. I think your odds are better if you don't put your mind to it
If you just go about doing the things you do you'll find people who are compatible with you while just living yoru life. If you go looking, you'll meet people who may have little in common with you other than the fact that they're looking to.

Really, your best bet for finding a boyfriend this summer is to live life well without one.

20. Yes and no
I have hermit tendencies. When I'm out, I often have my nose in a book. I can easily give off a don't approach me vibe, which is not really conducive to meeting someone.

Everyone tells me that a relationship will drop in your lap right when you either A) can't deal with one or B) when you're not looking for love. But, I haven't been ready for one, and I haven't been looking for one, but dammit do I need one! It's been forever.

I'm totally confident you'll find someone special though yvr girl, you're so pretty and smart, you'll attract the best kind of guy! :)

43. yeah, but it's not quite that easy...
it used to be back when i was in college/grad school, but now there are a lot more variables tossed into the crapshoot...i was never a fan of the bar/club scene, and once women generally get to a certain age (I'm almost 30) they become much more suspicious of the random pick-up and are from the start inclined to say no....(and rejection tends to get on my nerves after it happens enough times)...

When I see a woman i want to talk to (could be the supermarket, the beach, library, etc), about a hundred thought processes pass in my head in the 60-second window i have before deciding whether or not to approach...(i.e., determining a guesstimate on age, looking for a wedding band or kids/BF nearby, seeing if she's a smoker, trying to acertain in advance what we may have in common, the list goes on...) naturally, once i see a woman that meets most of the conditions (or at least my TWO important ones) chances are she's not the type that would be interested in me....Add to it the fact that i've had some personal (financial, unemployment-related) crap going on in my life, and like i said, once women put their college years behind them and reach a certain age, they become MUCH more interested in what a man has been able to make of his life, socially, financially, whatever....and there are other things i won't get into

but like i said--these issues are unique to me, so maybe the majority of men out there DO have it easier than the women....

39. very very easily
if you put your mind to it, you can prob. get a boyfriend by the end of the next 10 minutes

i am a plain reclusive older lady and i still get hit on

if you're female and you're breathing, you can have boyfriends

now if you're holding out for a QUALITY boyfriend, maybe that's more challenging, sure, but if you just need an escort to the beach, should be pretty easy

and even if you're picky, i don't think you'll have any trouble finding your pick of beaus (or is that spelled beaux?) by the end of summer

happy hunting and remember you're the one with the power! :-)

40. Largest Elizabeth In The World
Didn't you ever feel like the largest Elizabeth in the World?

Usually at a time when the boy is oblivious to the girl

I read in the paper the other day this has been happening to everbody more and more

The scientists are on the case but they still haven't figured out what it is that it is happening for

Slow down, slow down, slow down

Wouldn't you like to feel like yourself after suffering so many years?

If you were asked to the party by somebody else you wouldn't be sitting home in tears

Or maybe you're one of those interesting people who don't go out but they get their best work done

By keeping themselves in the house off the street and away from the scene when it's time for the rest to have fun

Slow down, slow down, slow down
Come on, slow down, slow down

They say the world's over
Goodbye, see you next time
You don't have to go

What if the after effect of the terrible bomb is unusual beyond belief?

Wouldn't you rather the whole population had listened to somebody like the old Indian Chief?

Turn it around and go back to that simple truck stop on the way to the unfortunate world

You might be the largest Elizabeth but Elizabeth is still a good name to have if you're a girl

Slow down, come on, slow down
Slow down, slow down, slow down
Slow down, slow down, slow down
