I broke the stinking wash machine.
I think I overloaded it with rugs
:hide:

and now it won't drain unless I pull the hose off the back and drop it below the level of the tub, so that the water runs out.

What do I do?!

5. Nevermind. I'm just going to crawl in there, shut the lid, and hide
until someone comes over to fix it.

2. Pull out the hose and drain it that way
And then let it rest for a while. It might have overheated or something. Happened to me once and and then it was fine.

Of course, it's happened to me before and Not been fine, too.

Good luck.

4. You put rugs in it?
Check the lint filter. Probably clogged.

10. Y'know, my husband said to call my Dad and ask him to come look at it,
but I'm avoiding that, because I'm afraid he'll show up with her!

12. sounds like the pump
might only be the drive belt off the motor, but some machines have the pump ass'y integral to the motor housing.

prbly easiest to buy a used/rebuilt machine; they last as long as the new ones, cost about 1/2 as much, and you don't have to get upset when it goes tits-up on you.

re-use/recycle/ & i forget the rest of the slogan...

13. Well if it's stinking perhaps it was for the best
I mean, I wouldn't want my laundry washed in a stinking wash machine!

14. When we had a similar problem and called the repairman
he said the transmission needed to be replaced. Fortunately this was covered by some kind of warranty so the costs were minimal.

Our deal was a little different in that the washer wouldn't drain but also the water wouldn't shut off automatically, so we got flooded out a couple of times. Hopefully this isn't in your future.
