5. yes, :)
four out of 10, are marvel, the other 6 are DC...:) I like marvel, but i usually get pulled into DC a whole lot more, cause my top two heroes are DC staples. Its hard to get ripped from DC, except with Wolverine/spiderman, cause the other Marvel heroes i like, usually don't get that much attention, and are only used every now and then, like Juggernaut/Collosus...I am exicited about Xmen III, cause Wolverine/Collusus do the "throw"...my first marvel comics, dealt with Piotr and Logan going cross country in Russia, from bar to bar, whooping ass, and they would do the "throw", i thought it was tight..:)

8. DC!
Edited on Tue May-23-06 07:38 AM by NewWaveChick1981
Marvel always has characters that have hands bigger than their heads and no necks (you know what I'm talking about!). That just pisses me off! :grr: I'll take the likes of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Green Lantern, etc., any time. :D

Hubby is a comic artist and did color work on many of those characters, some for years. I guess I'm kinda partial to them! :)

34. Yeah,
I noticed the outlandish artwork in Marvel, predominately on there What IF comics, some of the illustrations for those comics(early to mid 90's) were pretty brutal. I remember one, where Wolverine/Nightcrawler were the main heroes in teh What If, and Wolverines arms were twice the size of his body....

2. DC is way better!
I was always annoyed by the nerdy cannon crap with marvel.

Currently reading DC's Watchmen graphic novel (ie 12 comics bound as one :) ).
Sweet.

It is pretty incredible. I see why it won a Hugo.

26. There were only the twelve issues. (twelve chapters of one graphic novel.)
One of the greatest achievements in the comics mediium (and the only graphic novel that Time put on their list of the 100 best novels of the modern era).

6. Marvel for me
I still check out some of the DC stuff, but my regular titles are exclusively Marvel.

The ultimate line (FF, Ultimates, Spiderman, X-men)
New Avengers
Astonishing X-Men
(and I'm toying around with getting that new Moonknight book)

Right now the only DC book I'm getting is Alex Ross's Justice. Although I'm going to get that Morrison/Kubert Batman when it comes out.

43. I really liked the Ultimates....
And that series Marvells....

That was sweet...

But lately, the DC adult line, meaning the graphic novels, has been so much more sophisticated...

I don't know...

I have always been partial to DC....

Even though I was reading Spider-Man and The Avengers and FF adn Captain America and Thor
since the early 60's....

To much soap and not enough action....

He's got a lot of fans out there, as we've found out. My husband has helped Darryl sell his original comic art through Ebay, and he still does commissions. :) There's a big demand for his work!

16. Both.
I've been reading comic books for enough decades to see periods where each company was putting out a lot of crap.

Sometimes Marvel is better. Sometimes DC is better. I like characters in both.

17. Ever read Catwoman in the mid- to late 90s?
Or Superboy in the late 90s? My husband was the color artist on those books and did other fill-in issues on other titles. :) When the comic industry started to take a nosedive, so did the employment rate for artists. :( He's working on other things now besides comics, but that's what he loves.

19. I read both.
That's awesome that he can work in a field he loves. (Better if it paid well though.)

if I remember correctly, he did a pretty damned good job on Catwoman. I don't recall the art on superboy quite as clearly.

29. Thanks!
He really put his heart and soul into it. His colors were so realistic it was incredible. :) He agonized over every issue of Catwoman, and he was on it five years. He was on Superboy for three.

18. I was hard-core DC for years.
Started with Batman, but wound up reading Sandman and Hellblazer. I finally lightened up when the X-Men movies were released though - I blame Hugh Jackman...

41. So good, in fact...
...that I'm waiting for the trades, and not reading the monthly comic. I guess I'm way behind, but I only want to buy the series once, and in a durable form that stands up to rereading.

I do the same with Lucifer.

after that, both started to go crazy with rewritings of their characters' histories, weird illustrations, etc.

So I probably have to give it up to Marvel considering that Batman is really the only thing in the DC universe that I like. Plus I really do not care for Superman.
