Ain't too much better than a Ft. Garry Dark.

Talk to me about beer, DU. What do you like? I'm in a sociable mood. Lets get chatty, cath.

3. Too foamy.
Barqs is more highly carbonated and less sweet. (Insert more rambling about shit that your average beer nerd would say about his/her beer.)

4. Since you addressed me directly...
(You did say Cath, right?)

My refrigerator right now contains Sam Adams Summer Ale, Sierra Nevada Summerfest, and Rogue Dead Guy. My favorite of the three is Summerfest, but they are all good.

I like hoppy beers, so most IPAs are good in my book.

In winter, I love to have Deschutes Jubelale and Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale; Bridgeport Ebenezer Ale is another favorite holiday beer. And Sam Adams Old Fezziwig!

Sometimes I pine for Leinenkugel's Red. No Leinie Lodge here in the west, though. I also pine for Pete's Wicked Strawberry Blonde.

Pretty much anything put out by Sierra Nevada and Deschutes is going to be good.

Yes, I am a fucking loser.

One of the best beers I ever drank was a stout from a brewpub in Nashville. The warmer it got, the better it tasted.

20. Mmmmm beer...dark beer
A few interesting dark beers I've had include an oatmeal stout and chocolate stout. I believe they were both Imperial, but they may have been a British brew.

Another good one I get on occassion is the Stony Creek Vanilla porter...

I'm also glad someone mentioned the Rogue Dead Guy. That's another good one. I like several brews by Bells. The Oberon, Winter white, etc etc...Blue Moon is also good...don't remember who it's by though...

32. Are we talkin' about good beer or cheap beer?
Two entirely seperate conversations. Both have their merits, and both have their drawbacks.

I, for instance, am drinking a leftover Keystone, because price is an issue right now.

Its's a hundred degrees outside right now, though. I prefer something a little less dark, maybe even a light beer.

Can you buy mead commercially?

45. I am just not a beer drinker, but I love Belgian Lambic Framboise
Doesn't taste like beer - it tastes like heaven in a glass. There's a dessert made with the Lambic Framboise at RFD's in D.C. and the description on the menu says, "proof that there is a god and he wants us to be happy." Indeed!

EP has many to recommend (see above). He said to add Unibroue as well as O'Hara's Celtic Stout (the best Irish Stout he's had, bar none) to his list too.

53. I usually fall back on the local stuff...
I like all of Abita's offerings, but have a special place in my heart (and belly) for Turbodog.

From their website:

Abita Turbodog is a dark brown ale brewed with Willamette hops and a combination of British pale, crystal and chocolate malts. This combination gives Turbodog its rich body and color and a sweet chocolate-toffee like flavor.

56. Talk about a fabulous ass...
A priest wanted to raise money for his church and, being told that there was a fortune in horse racing, decided to purchase one enter it in the races.

However, at the local auction, the going price for horses was so steep that the priest ended up buying a donkey instead.

He figured that since he had it, he might as well go ahead and enter it in the races. To his surprise, the donkey came in third. The next day the headlines read:

PREACHER'S ASS SHOWS

The priest was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the races again. This time he won! The news read:

PREACHER'S ASS OUT IN FRONT

The bishop of the church saw the headline and was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the priest not to enter the donkey in another race. The headlines read:

BISHOP SCRATCHES PREACHER'S ASS

This was too much for the bishop to take, so he ordered the priest to get rid of the animal. The priest decided to give it to a nun in a nearby convent. The headlines read:

NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN

The bishop fainted. He informed the nun that she would have to dispose of the donkey - so she found a farmer who was willing to buy the animal for $10.00. The headlines read:

NUN PEDDLES ASS FOR TEN BUCKS

They held the bishop's funeral the next day...
