Is My Pizza Safe?
I have two slices of Pizza Hut pepperoni pan pizza, wrapped in aluminum foil, sitting on the stove. They have been there for about 30 hours, with the temperature at about 73 degrees Fahrenheit. (The stove has not been turned on.)

If I eat the pizza, will it make me sick?

1. Typically food is safe at room temp for up to two hours
You should be fine.

4. Yuck indeed
I actually misread your OP. I thought it said the pizza had been out for 30 minutes, not 30 hours. If you ate that pizza you'd be seriously risking food poisoning. :scared:

7. guess I'll just eat "wienies in a can" before bed
They're gross. But not as gross as food poisoning.

3. 30 hours? Not safe. between 41 and 140 F it is safe for two hours, safe
Edited on Tue May-23-06 02:40 AM by Random_Australian
if it is going to be cooked before serving for four hours after initial exposure, but 30 hrs is way way way too much.

If you go 'what the hell' against this advice please nuke it first.

Edit: In Australia, in this context, nuke means microwave.

5. thanks!
I think deep down I knew it wasn't good. Just trying to rationalize eating it. Actually didn't taste that bad, even it was Pizza Hut. :)

8. I wouldn't trust it.
I routinely eat pizza that's been left out for 12 hours or so, but that's my limit and I don't eat meat pizza.

10. After 30 hours?....
...no, throw it away. Besides, flies probably have already planted their eggs in it by now....

12. oooh, I didn't think of that
I have killed a fly or two lately.

That reminds me about the old story about Bubble-Liscious (sp?) bubblegum being made with fly eggs. That was one weird urban legend.
