What kind of role-playing are you or have you been into?

And which are the more serious?

7. How about a quarter-century after high school?
Still feelin' no shame. My wife and I travel 45 minutes to game, when we're not playing on the Internets.

character animal and.... and.... and...

well, you know?

19. Actually, from what I've read,
they don't always... you know.

Some of it's just more like D&D or sci/fi or gamer role playing. Most even? Not sure... but it seems there are lots of them very angry about the whole thing having been sexualized to the degree it is.

21. I would feel a LOT better if the sexualization were taken out of it.
It's just... wrong.

It's like disney characters having sex.

Pluto. Daisy. Daffy Duck.

Having... sex. Raunchy sex.

I just absolutely fail to see the pyschological pleasure connection between Daffy Duck and sexual appreciation and gratification... and I'm REALLY OPEN MINDED.

:D

8. I played D&D until I realized the truth of Marilyn Manson's statement:
"If every cigarette you smoke takes seven minutes off your life, every game of Dungeons & Dragons you play delays the loss of your virginity by seven hours."

But back when I was into it, I was into it big. Created my own entire world -- maps, descriptions of all the countries, a complete timeline of world history, etc., etc., etc.

13. Well... I was about 17...
and some mates and me went to a party, and... we had quite a lot to drink. And then some of the fellows there started 'andin'... cheese around. And, well, just out of curiosity, I tried a bit, and... well, that was that.

And what else did these fellows do?

Well, some of them started dressin' up as mice a bit... and then when they'd got the costumes on, they started... squeakin'.

Yes. And was that all?

That was all.

And what was your reaction to this?

Well, I was shocked. But, gradually I came to feel that I was more at ease with other mice.

A typical case, whom we shall refer to as Mr. A — although his real name is this:

ARTHUR JACKSON
32A MILTON AVENUE,
HOUNSLOW, MIDDLESEX

15. lol
where cute!

To answer the original query-I LARP'd in high school, started playing D&D at 19, and not only continue to play to this day, but am the undisputed Dungeon Mistress of my group!

I make completely original worlds, histories, mythos, calendars. No detail too small. It's my favorite creative outlet.

And my sex life is fine, thank you!

And are they already formatted? (I assume you have to re-format them once you put them into a post, right?)

25. All the MPFC bits are here:
http://www.ibras.dk/montypython/justthewords.htm

Trick is, you have to know either the name of the bit or what episode it was in, unless you want to plow through the whole bloody thing to find what you want.

Some reformatting is necessary, but that's largely because I'm anal. :D

That's the only site I'm aware of that has all the series scripts, but there're tons o' photos, sound files etc. at these two:

http://www.intriguing.com/mp/

http://orangecow.org/pythonet/pythonet.html

The best site overall is this one: http://arago4.tn.utwente.nl/stonedead/main.html But it's been down for several months. x(

18. MMORPGs
I realize that the vast majority of MMORPG players play the games for the hack-and-slash fun, but I play an MMORPG called EverQuest, and have been roleplaying my characters for the past 6 years. I've met some remarkable roleplayers there.

31. D and D
90% of the time, and then Mage/Vampire/Werewolf from the White Wolf System. I played D and D the most, but it was so hard to get a small group togehter, shit just getting two PC's together for a game, was hard. Thats why i started playing Magic the Gathering, all I needed was just one person to play against, and we didn't have to through all the hub bub of finding another D and D player...

36. On DU I pretend I'm witty and quick.
In person, I'm like... Duhhh, ummm, ahhhh, especially in a group, unless the conversation is about computers, submarines, or evolutionary biology. At big noisy dinners where everyone is laughing and talking up a storm, I'm the one sitting there quietly watching everyone and fidgeting.

Ah well.

Now that I think about this, it really disturbs me I've done everything in your poll, including a lot of "other."

When I was a dashing young single man and dumber than a pet rock, my most popular role at such events was as arm-candy for women who didn't want to be hit upon, even though their, um, costumes, were quite over the top... Spilling out sometimes, in fact. I used to look pretty good carrying an unusually large weapon of some sort. And crazy.
