2. His name is prince, and he is funky |
|
he can do just as he pleases, besides you don't think that the whole "artist formerly known as" thing would have been the shark jumping point if it were to happen?

20. He was actually supposed to be on the show this season |
|
Unfortunately, it didn't work out because he didn't want to meet with the contestants and that was part of the deal. In his defense, he's notoriously shy so it probably wasn't a snob thing.

and saw one episode. Elliott is from Richmond, so I started to follow it a little. It's my mind candy for the week.

It's hard to forget. I think it was the worse show ever to be put on a television.

16. He probably did the show to promote his new CD... |
|
and because he was so fine, funky, real, immediate and HOT (HOT!) he put the entire season of AI to shame. Whatever momentary lapse I had in actually taking AI seriously, abruptly ended when he performed. Even the audience sounded different, like they had just witnessed something real.

19. You misuse the term "jump the shark" |
|
Prince jumped the shark with some of his own strange behaviors years ago. He can't jump the shark on American Idol because the threshold is set so very very low that it can't get more ridiculous. It is impossible for the shark to be jumped on this one.
Being on American Idol is actually great for Prince and Mary J. and everyone else because it is free advertising to 32 million viewers.
And, Prince is so talented a performer, among every other talent that he has, that he makes the contestants look completely worthless. He was great, as usual. A true showman.
